Motorcyclist dies on Wentworth Springs Rd.
STUMPY MEADOWS — An Elk Grove man was killed Sunday morning when he lost control of his speeding motorcycle on Wentworth Springs Road, an official with the California Highway Patrol said.
Placerville area CHP officer Dan Stark said Christopher Austria, 42, died Sunday at 11:40 a.m. when he was thrown from his Kawasaki ZX-250 while driving eastbound on Wentworth Springs Road over the Stumpy Meadows Dam.
Stark said Austria was likely speeding when he lost control of his motorcycle and went flying into a nearby guard rail.
Austria was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the second motorcycle death on Wentworth Springs Road in as many months.
In May Georgetown woman Tracie Murchie, 39, was killed when the motorcycle on which she was riding as a passenger collided with a truck.
Stark urged El Dorado County residents to practice safe driving, especially when the summer months bring an increase in motorcyclists on the roadways.
“Those roads are winding, they go around curves,” said Stark. “You can’t take anything for granted.”

Uncle Randy,
I miss you. I hope wherever you are now, you’re at peace. And that you’re together with Uncle Loy and Lolo Dick, smiling down upon us.
I never had a chance to say it while I was alive, but I wanted to tell you that I love you and that you were like a brother to me. I remember you taking me snowboarding after my first bad breakup, go karting in Vegas for Nick’s bachelor party, and drinking “bad trips” in Manila while singing karaoke til 5am with complete strangers. We had so many good times. But also, when I look back, I know I wasn’t around much for the past 10 years. I’m sorry for that. But even though we didn’t see each other as often as when we grew up together, I always felt at home with you, Dee Dee, and Charlotte. And it hurts to think about how hard it will be for them and for all of us without you. But the way you lived your life will always transcend your passing- you’ve given us so many great memories that will live on forever.
I can only hope to someday be that great person you were who gave so much love to so many people. Know that I will try, as imperfect as I am. And someday, when I’m up in heaven with you, we can talk about all the good times and all the ridiculousness. Until then, I’ll manage. We’ll all manage.
Rest in peace, uncle. Your nephew loves you.

Isn’t it disastrous that we remember a Bunny and it’s eggs instead of  a Cross and it’s nails… We call it easter Sunday…. but we forget that it’s not about the prices inside the eggs that we find but the Christ who is inside our hearts that really matter. It’s not about searching for eggs but searching for God and after we have found him… It’s good to remember not just the suffering but also…

Mary Magdalene was the first one to see the empty tomb but she ran out and screamed to her companions that someone has taken the body of Christ… but when John had entered the tomb he “Believed” that Christ had risen… so what did John see that Mary Magdalene didn’t? What had caused John to believe in the resurrection that he was ready to trade his life for his belief?

Food for the thought

"Faith is active; It demands a response. Unlike reason which bows down faithfully to the evidence, faith is prejudiced."
